Catherine Marche talks at University of the Arts London

Catherine Marche is a guest speaker tonight at the "why sell online"  talk, organised by Etsy UK, in collaboration with Artsmart and the 6 colleges of UAL.

Having extensive experience in online sales, Catherine will present her journey on Selling with Etsy and will give her Top tips on Starting an online Shop.

Catherine Marche is a jeweller who makes bespoke handcrafted jewellery from her Hatton GArden workshop, which is represented by its simple elegance with effortless French chic. Everyone deserves to look and feel stunning with beautiful and playful pieces which enhance their inner beauty and is a fashion statement of the wearer’s personality.

Catherine started selling her work online and using social media in 2007 and has achieved sales of her jewellery creations to several countries from Europe to the USA.

The next steps after finishing university can be daunting.

Have you considered setting up your own business to sell work you have designed and made instead of working for someone else?
Etsy.com is a vibrant online handmade marketplace. At this presentation, you will get the chance to meet arts graduates who are also Etsy sellers.
They will be sharing their experiences and thoughts on setting up a creative online business. You will also find out about the different items sold on the website, the community resources available, and the advantages of setting up an Etsy shop.

Arts graduates and Etsy admin staff will be available after the talk to answer any questions.

We launched at London Jewellery Week 2009 to bring short-run, high-design, affordable jewellery to collectors, stylists and fashion editors. The collective brought together a group of talented designers who could support each other at various stages of business development, to buck the trend of high street homogenization.

In June 2012, ten of JeDeCo’s members joined forces to open a studio retail space in Oxo Tower, the iconic art and design destination on London’s South Bank. A showcase for an eclectic collection of contemporary jewellery, our gallery offers designs to suit all tastes and budgets, from diamond-set fine jewellery to experimental pieces in acrylic, rubber and concrete. Our diversity is dazzling.

Our designers are happy to tailor their designs, or create bespoke jewellery to specification.

Heart Ring 2/2

After my client had told me which heart she liked the most, I proceeded to finish her little heart ring.
I first domed the heart shape, then soldered it to its ring shank. I selected a lovely little white diamond, and added it to her heart for a symbol of eternal.
After polishing, here is the result.

heart and diamond ring

I hope you like this little ring too .
She did and is getting married with it as I write this post.
